DIY: Photo Frame Wall

After taking over 7000+ images on my camera and phone on my trip to the USA and Canada earlier this year I have finally got around to creating my photo frame wall with some of my favourite shots. It's was so nice to see some of the thousands of photos printed out.

Here is how I did it...
 1. Print a selection of your favourite photos in different sizes and collect frames of varying styles and sizes.
I decided to collect a variety on black frames with off white matt boards. The majority of the images I printed were 5x7", a few 4x6" and a couple of 8x10". It does depend on your space and the frames you find, so a good idea would be to start collecting frames at the same time your deciding on photo selection. Make sure you choose a variation of landscape and portrait images for your frames.

2. Choose a frame for each of your photos.
I found it was easier to print out more photos than I needed and play around with choices for the frames. I still had to print out a couple of extra photos in a specific size or orientation.

3. Put your photos in your frames.
Careful of fingerprints!

4. Play around with the arrangement of your frames.
Lay out your frames on a large table or floor space with your maximum length and height of the space you have to work within. I tried lots of different lay outs taking photos along the way.

5. Hang your frames!
Although I had experimented with different lay outs it wasn't until I started hanging the frames that I really decided on the final arrangement.

The finished product:

There are so many creative ways of displaying photos and art in your own space.
